The Australian Curriculum (English and Mathematics) requires learners to be able to:
- Use a range of software, including word processing programs, confidently, flexibly and imaginatively to create, edit and publish texts, considering the identified purpose and the characteristics of the user. (ACELY1776)
- Construct displays, including column graphs, dot plots and tables, appropriate for data type, with and without the use of digital technologies. (ACMSP119)
Infogr.am is a free, online Web 2.0 tool that allows learners to create and publish imaginative texts and data displays called “Infographics”. Learners can construct text, import resources (images and videos) and customise a selection of inbuilt charts and maps. Once complete, the infographics can be shared for enjoyment and evaluated by identified audiences.
