Description
The process for creating cards for a memory game using Microsoft® Excel 2004 and Word 2004 is described below. The Completed Project Movie shows you what the example project might look like. The tutorial movies that follow demonstrate, step-by-step, how to merge the data from a spreadsheet to a word processing document to create the cards. The subject of this project can be easily modified just by changing the data pairs used in the spreadsheet to relate to a current area of study. Creating Your Own Project
This project involves creating a simple data entry form in Microsoft Excel. We will enter geological terms and their matching definitions into our spreadsheet. Then, we'll create a merge template in Microsoft Word using a 2-column label format. In the left column we will enter a merge placeholder for the geological term, and in the right column we will enter a merge placeholder for the definition. Data will be merged from the spreadsheet into our template to create cards that can be used to play a matching game.
