Description
The process for creating the example spreadsheet using Microsoft® Excel 2007 is described below. The Completed Project Movie shows what the finished product might look like. The tutorial movies that follow demonstrate, step-by-step, how to construct the Fractions Frenzy spreadsheet using the sample data provided in the downloadable resource packet. This project can be easily modified or adapted for other subject or content areas, where the use of a spreadsheet to perform calculations and provide feedback would be useful. Creating Your Own Project
We will begin the project with an introduction to the Excel interface. We will learn how cells are addressed and how to merge and format cells in order to create boxes that will contain our title and the feedback. We will then adjust the dimensions of cells and add a background and comments in the form of suggestions and hints. We will also add an interactive component to the spreadsheet by inserting formulae to provide feedback. Finally we will learn how to protect spreadsheet cells so that they are not inadvertently accessed or changed and to set up the print area in order to print out a copy of the worksheet.
