Description

The process for creating the example Book Tracker database using FileMaker^® Pro 7 is described below. The Completed Project Movie shows you what the example project might look like. The tutorial movies that follow demonstrate, step-by-step, how to construct the database. This project can be easily modified for collecting data for any subject, or extended to track books students read over the year. Creating Your Own Project

We'll begin by creating a new document in FileMaker Pro. The first task will be setting up the database, which involves defining the different data fields and setting some options for those fields. Then, we'll move into adding and editing records within the database. We'll be creating a custom layout and script that will allow us to easily print the book list. The last section will discuss how to export the records and import them into a master file.
